The wind was howling and we had the wind at our back for the first half and just couldn't get things going. Our defense was beaten on almost every play and most of our shots on goal were wide. We entered the half tied 2-2.The kids have gone to the penultimate game undefeated, so I really tried to motivate them to bring their "A" game in the second half because we were going to need it trying to contain their quick forwards and score goals into a 20mph wind .
Our defense stepped it up a little bit, but Kees turned it up into hyper-drive continuously shooting into the goal and even though several of them still went wide (the wind played havoc with his higher shots), he lead the team with 5 goals in our 6-4 victory! (I think he now has 44 goals for the season!)
Whew!
One more game!
