The beginning of a long, steep climb... she was quickly passed by three girls on the initial climb so I knew something was up because she is never passed on a climb. It could have been racing the downhill in the morning and being out in the sun all day or that the other girls were just stronger. Regardless, she knew it was dire and pushed hard the whole race. So hard that she crashed, but she recovered and never gave up. I'm very proud of her!
